If you’re a PC gamer looking to dig into the new Call of Duty: Vanguard when it launches this week, there are a few things you need to check out.
But first, a trailer
The new trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard is epic. Not only is this launch look massive in scale, but it’s massive in screen too. Yep, Vanguard is going wide-screen for it’s PC gaming debut.
And it’s a stunner.
Okay, now for the nuts and bolts
Along with that gorgeous new look at the game in action, Activision also delivered the facts when it comes to just what kind of a rig you’ll need to get the game looking that good.
As you might imagine, to get the best-possible visuals, you’ll need a pretty great system. But if you just want to run it, then you’ll find that Vanguard isn’t all that demanding.
The minimum specs are:
- 8GB RAM
- 36 GB at launch (Multiplayer and Zombies only) of storage
- An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 video card
- 2GB video memory
- An Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300 CPU
- and Windows 10 64-bit with the latest update
As for the Ultra settings, well they’re ever-so-slightly higher. To run the game in that state will require:
- An Intel Core i9-9900K or AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
- 16gigs of RAM
- 61GB of storage at launch, with an extra 64gigs for hi-res storage
- An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- 10GB of vid memory
- and of course that Win10 64-bit, updated
In-between there are a few more levels though, so your mileage may vary as to what you’ll actually be running with when Call of Duty: Vanguard arrives. On that note too, it’s hitting on the 5th of November (remember, remember), which is this Friday.
Pre-loading for those who’ve pre-ordered the game digitally begins tomorrow. So at 10am Pacific time, on November 2nd, you can hit that download and be ready to play on the 5th.
