The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, the ultimate edition of the game that redefined the roguelike genre, is out now for Xbox Series X|S. Check out the trailer to see some highlights:

It doesn’t matter whether you’re new to Isaac’s world or a longtime player — Repentance is loaded with secret surprises that keep it fresh every time you enter its mazelike dungeons. The Xbox Series X|S version is complete with all the features of previous Isaac games and tons of brand-new ones: over 320 enemy types, more than 100 boss characters, 22,000 different room designs… the list goes on!

One of the things that fans love about The Binding of Isaac is the incredible array of items and trinkets that Isaac can discover. Repentance has over 900 of them, and they all have different functions. Will they help or hinder your progress? Many items have “stackable” features that can quickly turn a difficult run into an overpowered frenzy of twin-stick-shooting insanity!         

The biggest surprise for Isaac fans? Repentance has 34 different playable characters: 17 unique protagonists, plus an alternate “tainted” version of each one. You’ll have to accomplish some challenging in-game tasks in order to unlock them all, but once you do, you’ll be able to begin each new run with dramatically different starting items and abilities.
