Ezio Auditore da Firenze arrives on the Switch, as Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection lands alongside a bevy of smaller releases.
Heed the Creed
Is Ezio the greatest Italian video game hero of all time? Well, as long as we’re counting non-cartoony heroes, then he just might be. And in a medium where, when Italians do appear they’re cast as thugs and mobsters, that’s a very nice thing indeed.
Of course, the renaissance-era hero’s time has long since passed in the Assassin’s Creed series, but that doesn’t mean publisher Ubisoft can’t squeeze a little more life out of his games. Take The Ezio Collection, for example.
A new arrival on Nintendo Switch this week, The Ezio Collection binds together the character’s 3 starring roles into one pack. That’s Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations. But wait, there’s more, as the pack also includes a pair of short-films, and all the (single player) DLC from the games in question.
Looking for something else? Then you should definitely check out Infernax. A side-scrolling love letter to 8bit titles of yore, Infernax ups the ante with copious blood and gore and brutal boss fights.
And if you don’t like either of those suggestions, well there’s even more for you to check out, including a few possible gems. Scroll down for the full list.
