Street Fighter 6 is official, though there’s little info just yet

Yes, at long last Street Fighter 6 is a go. But while Capcom has revealed a short teaser for the upcoming fighter, there’s precious little else right now.

Before we get to the ‘info’, take a look at that teaser:

If you’re anything like me, that little look at SF6 left you wondering who that was facing off with Ryu. The answer is an easy one; it’s Luke. If you remember, Luke was announced as the final member of SFV’s roster, and Capcom hinted that he’d have a major part to play in the 6th outing.

Just what that part is, is still a mystery however. Actually, everything about the game is, including where it’ll fall on the Street Fighter timeline. Will we finally see a new game that tales place after SF3? Whenever it takes place, hopefully we’ll see Xbox and (dare we dream it?) Switch versions.

Street Fighter 6, the next evolution of the renowned Street Fighter series which has sold more than 47 million units since it charged onto the scene 35 years ago, is now in development. The teaser trailer showcased a glimpse of what’s to come with the future of Street Fighter, as series mainstay Ryu locks horns with new challenger Luke. The 45^th and final character in the Street Fighter V roster was teased to have a key role in the next Street Fighter project, which has now been confirmed. More details will be shared this summer.
