Time to build with Aven Colony and Project Highrise, and Xbox Games with Gold

June 2022 brings a solid selection of titles for Xbox subscribers and Games with Gold. Project Highrise, Aven Colony, and Super Meat Boy among them.

Not bad

Games with Gold has been pretty hit or miss for a while now. It’s easy to imagine why, since Game Pass serves up such a fantastic selection of brand new games, and GwG has almost become unnecessary at present. Still though, it’s nice to actually ‘own’ a game instead of (basically) renting one, and the service still does provide that.

This month too, there are some pretty good titles included, that include two of the better ‘builders’ in recent years and a neo-classic of a platformer. On the sim end, there’s both Aven Colony and Project Highrise.

We reviewed both of those, and loved ’em, particularly Aven Colony which knocked us over with the sci-fi setting and the sheer amount of building tools available. Hit the links above to check out our thoughts.

As for Super Meat Boy, what’s to say that hasn’t already been covered? It’s a classic of a platformer, though one that might have you pining for the ease of Elden Ring. And finally, there’s Raskulls. I know basically nothing about that one, though the cartoony platformer does look kinda fun.
