Marvel resurrects the Midnight Sons as the Midnight Suns

Just in time to tie into the upcoming video game of the same name (funny how that happens) Marvel Comics is bringing back the Midnight Sons Suns.

Eh, same difference

Yes, the name change might be dopey, but a Midnight-whatever by any other name still smells as rotten. Or something like that. And the Midnight Suns are definitely back (for the first time) in both a new video game, and now a new comic series.

Marvel will be bringing the team back with a relatively new roster this fall. For the first storyline, fans can expect a tale that’ll center on the recently departed Sorcerer Supreme.

A dark prophesy and apocalyptic new villains with horrifying powers the likes of which Earth has never faced before ordains a team of Midnight Suns to rise and tear @#$% up! But what does this new threat have to do with the Sorcerer Supreme’s past? And why is Strange Academy student Zoe Laveau number one on the Suns’ list?

Marvel Comics

As for the team members, it’s a mixed bag of names that you likely know well, and a few that you probably don’t. Blade, Kushala, (a) Ghost Rider, Magik, Wolverine, Nico Minoru, and Zoe Laveau round out the roster. A few notes though, as this isn’t the Ghost Rider that’s was a part of the Sons. This isn’t Blaze or Reyes either. Nope, it’s “the Ghost Rider also known as Spirit Rider”.

Also, while you might not recognize Laveau, she’s from Strange Academy, and as mentioned will play a big part in this story. Could that mean this opening arc will be similar to that new video game? Maybe, if Lilith shows up. Though again, right now we don’t have much on the story.

And Marvel is going to leave you hanging for a while, til September the 14th. That’s when Midnight Suns #1 lands on the racks.
