They’re back. Or at least, the apes will be back, as the original Planet of the Apes films are about to get a whole bunch of new stories, thanks to Marvel.
A Planet… of APES
Looks like PotA is heading back to the original timeline. You know the one, the classic series, as it was before the rebooted Apes franchise. That’s where this new Marvel Comics series will be heading.
If you didn’t know, Marvel has actually been to the Planet of the Apes before. Way back in the 1970’s, Marvel published Adventures of the Planet of the Apes, which were adaptations of the movies.
Though this time around, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be rehashes, but wholly new tales.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Planet of the Apes back to the House of Ideas!” Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski said. “The new saga in the pipeline is going explore the limits of what this beloved franchise has to offer through bold comics storytelling, and we look forward to setting foot on this new adventure!”
